If you're looking to add more volume in your hair, you’re not alone! I would say the conversation I have most behind the chair is how to add more volume in your hair! Whether you have fine, wavy, or straight hair, there are ways to add lift and fullness to your hair. Let’s talk about some tips and tricks to help you achieve more volume!
Begin your hair routine with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Look for formulas that are specifically designed to add lift and fullness without weighing your hair down. Avoid products with the words smoothing, frizz, moisture. This is if you are specifically looking for volume, a lot of shampoos who have those words are a little heavier. Look for words like lift, volume, lightweight.
One of the easiest ways to add volume is to blow dry your hair upside down or just the opposite way the hair is growing. If you are letting your hair air dry I would suggest rollers. When you hair is mostly dry, pop those in. If you are just air drying with your hair down it will stick to your head, not adding volume.
Velcro rollers and curling irons can give your hair long-lasting volume and shape. Roll small sections of front of your hair in Velcro rollers and leave them in for 20-30 minutes. Make sure you are curling your hair as close to the scalp as possible! This is my fav curling iron.
Avoid heavy styling products away from your roots. Instead, use lightweight sprays or powders that add texture and lift. Keep moisturizing products toward the ends of your hair!
Layers can add movement and volume to your hair, making it easier to style and giving it a fuller appearance. Even if its just a little bit of face framing!
Hoping these tips give you the volume you dream of!
